Geraldine has had a long association with multicultural groups throughout Australia, which is now the home to many cultures.
She has conducted her own Academy of Dance for several decades and has trained many Champion dancers over her years of teaching. She is a former multiple Title holder of State and Australian Championships, and represented Australia at World events in England and Ireland. She is an accomplished Teacher, Adjudicator, Examiner and Choreographer, and was the first Australian to hold the position of Vice-President of An Coimisium, Ireland. She has adjudicated at International Folk Festivals in Munich, Mallorca, South Africa, United States of America, Turkey, as well as at World Championships in Ireland, and throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Geraldine has toured with her dancers to Ireland, Europe and America, as well as a guest tour of Japan, Turkey and Asia - International Folk Festivals in Turkey, Sicily, Austria, Italy, Nepal, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Germany and Sweden.
She has received the Community Award of Excellence and Appreciation of Services to Dance, the Seamus McGettigan Memorial Award, and the Irish-Australian of the Year Award. She continues to conduct the numerous Branches of her Academy throughout the State of Victoria, Australia. |
